Hello and welcome! What is “Be Social With Media”?
Let me introduce myself. I’m Mel and I have been a full-time award-winning blogger, Instagrammer and avid Pinterester (is that even a word?) for 5 years now.
It all started when we bought a house that needed renovating, so I began to read lots of DIY blogs and spent all my time on Pinterest.
I wanted to document our renovation, so I created my own blog – www.melaniejadedesign.com.
I am incredibly passionate about my blog. It has grown into a full-time job, with my following on Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook and TikTok exceeding a quarter of a million followers.
Increasingly, I found that I enjoy writing about and helping people with their social media and blogs just as much as I enjoy writing about interior design and this is where the idea behind Be Social With Media began.
Time and time again I get asked how I have made blogging and Instagram my full-time job.

I have been meaning to set this website up for a few years now and the only thing stopping me was Imposter Syndrome! Why would people want to come to me to help them create a successful and profitable blog?
I come from an IT background. For 10 years I worked in IT Support, Web and graphic designing and eventually IT Programme Management and have a Degree in Information Technology Management for Business.
When I had my children, I took some time out from full-time employment and we started renovating our home.
I started blogging and using social media to help promote my blog and I became slightly obsessed with it.
I am absolutely fascinated by the social media world and I love writing my blog, it is my creative outlet which has turned into my full-time job.
In 5 years, I have managed to amass over 300,000 followers, my blog regularly gets over 70,000 monthly views with a growing email subscription list and my Pinterest has over 17 million monthly views.
My blog has been nominated for several awards and I won the Best Home Styling Blog Category at the Amara Interior Blog Awards in 2021.
I have a deep understanding of how Pinterest, SEO and social media can drive traffic to your blog and I can help take your blog from a little creative outlet to a profitable source of income.
